Access Healthcare
Global tech-enabled revenue cycle services at scale
Our take
Access Healthcare is one of the largest global revenue cycle services companies, founded in 2011 by Anurag Jain, Shaji Ravi, and Vardhman Jain and headquartered in Dallas. It runs outsourced RCM operations for hospitals, health systems, physician groups, and billing companies: coding, billing, AR follow-up, denial management, and the rest of the billing office, staffed by more than 27,000 revenue cycle professionals across 24 delivery centers in the US, UK, India, and the Philippines. Its echo platform layers robotic process automation and AI over that workforce to cut manual effort.
In January 2025 New Mountain Capital took a majority stake reported to value the company at $2 billion. In May 2025 New Mountain combined Access Healthcare with SmarterDx and Thoughtful.ai to form Smarter Technologies, a platform expected to generate over $800 million in revenue serving 200+ clients, 60+ hospital systems, and over half a million providers while processing more than 400 million transactions a year. For buyers, Access Healthcare is the labor-plus-automation engine of that platform: a fit when the goal is offloading revenue cycle operations at scale rather than licensing point software.
