Amperos Health

AI biller that works denials by phone and portal

Our take

Amperos Health, founded in 2023 in New York by Michal Miernowski, Alvin Wu, and Wilson Wang, builds Amanda, an AI biller that chases denied and underpaid claims for healthcare providers. Amanda checks claim status and disputes denials through payer portals and by calling insurance companies, then drafts and submits corrected claims, medical records, and appeals. A team of billing experts handles complex or hard-to-recover claims, and the platform reports back on denial root causes so providers can prevent repeats. Buyers are revenue cycle and billing leaders at provider groups, specialty practices, and billing companies.

The company raised a $4.2M seed in 2025 and a $16M Series A led by Bessemer Venture Partners with Uncork Capital and Neo in April 2026, when it also launched what it calls the first AI-native denial management and revenue recovery platform. Amperos says it has served more than 3,000 clinical locations across all 50 states, automated over 75,000 insurance calls, and now drives close to $700M in recovered revenue per year across more than 500,000 claims.

What it does

  • Calls payers to check status and dispute denials
  • Works payer portals for claim follow-up
  • Drafts and submits appeals with medical records
  • Submits corrected claims
  • Denial analytics and root-cause reporting

Where it's strong

  • Automates the actual follow-up work, phone calls included, rather than just flagging denials for staff.
  • Real volume behind the claims: over 3,000 clinical locations served and roughly $700M in annual recovered revenue across 500,000-plus claims.
  • Pairs AI automation with human billing experts for complex claims instead of forcing everything through the model.

What buyers should weigh

  • Founded in 2023, so it is still a young vendor for a function that touches core cash flow.
  • Named reference customers are not public; ask for references in your specialty and billing system.
  • Best fit is denial follow-up and recovery; it is not a full front-to-back RCM platform.
