Our take

Serif Health, a Y Combinator W22 company founded by engineers, does one thing: it turns the enormous, messy machine-readable rate files that more than 200 commercial payers publish each month into clean, queryable data. Customers get it through Signal, a search and benchmarking application, or through REST APIs that push negotiated rates, provider networks, and market benchmarks directly into their own products, including a FindCare API for care navigation tools. Employers check whether they are overpaying, providers benchmark contracts before negotiations, and digital health companies build pricing features on top.

More than 300 companies use the data, and the firm has become a visible voice in transparency policy, responding to federal RFIs with its national dataset. But it remains a seed-stage business with roughly $2.5M raised, facing Turquoise Health's far larger war chest in the same market.
