Hello Patient
AI agents that answer patient calls and book appointments
Our take
Hello Patient, founded in 2024 in Austin by CEO Alex Cohen, builds AI agents that run patient conversations for medical practices across phone, text, and web chat. The agents answer calls, book and reschedule appointments, run new patient intake, answer insurance questions, take refill requests, do recall outreach, and handle billing lines. It sells to outpatient practices and multi-site groups in specialties such as dermatology, orthopedics, ENT, urgent care, med spas, and veterinary care, and integrates with systems including ModMed, athenahealth, and eClinicalWorks.
The company raised a $6.3M seed in October 2024 and a $22.5M Series A led by Scale Venture Partners in September 2025 at a $100M valuation. Volume grew from hundreds of conversations a day in late 2024 to 10,000 to 20,000 a day by the Series A. In July 2026 Piedmont Urgent Care announced it had retired its billing voicemail line in favor of an AI agent built by Hello Patient. The company is HIPAA compliant and SOC 2 Type 2 certified and signs a BAA with every client.
What it does
- Answers inbound calls and books appointments
- Text and web chat conversations
- New patient intake and insurance questions
- Recall outreach and patient reengagement
- Refill requests and billing call handling
Where it's strong
- Covers voice, text, and chat in one platform, so patients are not forced onto the phone.
- Rapid production scale, handling 10,000 to 20,000 provider-patient conversations a day within a year of launch.
- HIPAA compliant and SOC 2 Type 2 certified, with a BAA signed for every client.
What buyers should weigh
- Founded in 2024, so long-term reliability and support track record are still short.
- Built for outpatient practice front-office work, not hospital contact centers or complex payer calls.
- Value depends on integration with your specific EHR and practice management system, so confirm coverage before buying.
